Aspire India Foundation

AIF organized three counseling cum motivational meetings during 2018-19. The objective behind organizing these talks was to provide young girls and their guardians an opportunity to listen to and interact with successful women from their own community who had struggled to rise in a pre-dominantly patriarchal society. The speakers covered topics including gender inequality, gender stereotypes, arts and craft, entrepreneurship, SHG, media and women’s health issues. A lot of career guidance was also given to the participating youth. These counseling and motivational meetings were well attended by the young girls of Welcome Colony.
The impact of these talks was seen in terms of one young girl (Ms. Sania) helped by AIF to realize her dream of studying law, instead of dropping studies after class 12, that girls commonly do in this area due to family pressure. Another girl (Ms. Nida), helped along by AIF appears for NVS clerk grade examination in September of 2019. The results of this examination are awaited. The SHG members also benefited from entrepreneurship ideas shared.
